Akaga (Акага) is one of the most popular bands in Bulgaria. Founded by students of the Academy of Music in 1990, the band quickly became famous while managing to create a new modern sound.
The song Airport of their debut album Broken Dreams is received with huge success, becoming the best-selling single of the year. The unbelievable success is also rewarded with the award of “The New Band of The Year” by the journal Rhythm (Ритъм). The album Why reveals their development as musicians, combining authentic Balkan folk with modern techno sound. Their successful album LIVE is recorded after the leave of the drum player and co-author of the band Christian Alexandrov.
